Scientific Exploration of Materials: Look at and Experience Natural and Synthetic Minerals and Materials

SEM LENS, the Hitachi Inspire Program at Michigan Tech will promote engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and further strengthen the interdisciplinary aspects of (1) Minerals (2) Materials (3) Engineering and (4) Science & Art that form the anchors and guide for the proposed program. 


Objectives of the site include:

The regional site at Michigan Technological University will provide access to the Hitachi TM4000 Plus tabletop SEM for outreach activities across campus and make it available to the larger community on select days at the A.E Seaman Mineral Museum.
